Lois W. Schall of Denton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, MD. She was 82 years old.
Born in Easton, Mrs. Schall was the daughter of the late Alvin Eugene Walbridge, Sr., and Ellen Virginia Miller Walbridge. Her husband, Robert L. Schall, Jr., passed away November 10, 2015.
Mrs. Schall taught Science at both Colonel Richardson High School and North Caroline High Schools in Caroline County, retiring in 2002 after 30 years. She had been very active in the Denton Church of the Brethren where she played the organ for over 50 years until 2017 when she retired because of health issues. She was a past manager of Camp Mardela in Denton, Past and first female President of the Denton Lions Club and was a member of the ADK sorority.
Mrs. Schall is survived by a son, Christopher R. Schall (Kimberly) of Greensboro, MD; a daughter, Suzanne S. Bowdle (Richard) of Denton; nine grandchildren: Emily, Jessica, Sarah, Drew (Jessica), Zach (Makayla), Noah (Karli), Hannah, Grace, and Riley; three sisters: Barbara McCann (Larry), Carol Goss (Jeff), and Sandy Faw (Eric), all of Richmond, VA; one brother, A. Eugene Walbridge (Diane) of Easton, MD; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Hildebrand. In addition, the family extends its warmest thank-you to Lois’ caregiver who helped so much the past four years and who she loved so much, Darlene Lee of Cambridge, MD.
There will be a viewing/visitation from 5 until 7 on Thursday evening, April 18th, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A. located at 12 South Second Street in Denton. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, April 19th, at the Denton Church of the Brethren in Denton. The interment will follow in the Green Mount Cemetery on Cemetery Road in Hillsboro.
